Core ESP Control Bar

Updated:  July 22,, 2010

This Page:   Core Bar

Use this link for the Core Kites.

We have the Core ESP Kite Control Bar in-stock!

The Core ESP is the currently ( as of this writing , Dec '09 ) the Best Designed, and safest Control Bar available from any Manufacturer.

If you are shopping for a control bar,  this bar is OUTSTANDING!

Compatability:   The Bar works

Length:  No need to buy 2 bars.  This 1 ESP Bar adjusts to usable lengths of 45cm and 57cm

Trim Strap:  Core uses a "Pull-Pull" above the bar strap that is silky smooth and within easy reach.  No exaggeration.    The Strap is super fast and easy to adjust.

Quick Release:  very clean, very Durable,  and very Safe, compared to the others we've tested.

Below the Bar Swivel:   This is the standout feature on the bar that gets the most attention
and is a prime example of why German Engineers have such a great reputation.
It's simply BRILLIANT!

Liros Flying Lines:  4 x 24m equal length lines:    Liros DC300  Pre stretched Dyneema
Effective Breaking Strength: 368 Kg ( 800 Lbs )    Ref # DC000-0300
This are probably the highest grade lines available. Extremely low Stretch. The first thing you will notice is how easy them separate from each other when walking them out when preparing to rig your kite.

Compatability:  works great with most bow, Delta, SLE Kites designed for use of a mini 5th
The Bar is perfect for the 2009 and 2010 Best Waroos, Kahoonas, and Nemesis.

Mini 5th:   The Bar is set-up to "flag" your Bow, Delta , SLE Kite off the 2 front lines.
Triggering the Release allows your Control bar to slide on the Red "safety line" for an effective distance of over 12 feet!  As a comparison the Safety line on the Best Redline bar is only half
the length of the one on the Core ESP Bar.

Mini Loop: The bar comes delivered with a mini loop under the bar.  We recommend that Beginners Snip off the loop and consider using it later once they have progressed to a more advanced level of skill.  A mini loop works just like a tiny "fixed Loop" aka "Harness line".
Engaging the loop prevents the bar from sheeting out giving the rider the ability to keep the power on during one handed maneuvers much like a stopper on center line but different.
Some love it, some hate it, and most can't comment because than have never used one.
It's included and you can choose to use it, or snip it off. If you snip it, and later change your
mind, no worries because a spare loop in included with the bar.

Photos:  We'll add some shortly.  For the moment, refer the Core Website ESP Photos.

The Perfect Bar?   No, of course not. : )   Is there such a thing as truely perfect?
Things that we would change: Yellow / red. The Core ESP Bar uses Yellow on the Left,
and Yellow for the Depower strap rather than the mre common Red. A Street Trafffic light uses Yellow to signifly "Caution" and Core Kites does the same. Still want red?  A Red "Sharpie" permanant Marker, or a small piece of Red Tape could be used.   I do like having the Bright eye catching yellow that be easily be seen even under water.  In a perfect world, I would make
the left side Neon Orange-Bright Red, like the color of a life raft.
As mentioned above the bar also uses a Mini-loop rather than a stopper ball.. Both are good, just different.

Price:  $449.  Included the Bar, 4 lines, Spare Mini-Loop, Mesh Zip Bar bag, safety Kite Leash. The New (2010) Performance bars from Best Kites are $399.
When we first saw the price, we thought " that's not cheap!".   Now that we've thourougly tested it against the Bars from North, Nobile, and Best Kites, the price of the Core is MORE than worth it!   With a 9m and 13m Waroo, most people buy a 45cm and a 55cm Bar.
2 Bars from best...  $399 x 2 = $798 ($800).  Having only 1 control bar that adjusts for 45cm to
55cm for $449 = a savings of $350.  That's a quite a bit!    This may or may not be seen as a savings since some people would want to buy 2 bars for 2 kites even having the adjustability option.

Sorry BEST,  we do LOVE your kites, but your 2009 Redline and SLE Bars look like they were designed by 1st graders in comparision to this Bar from Core.
To be fair to Best,  up until testing the core bar, the best bars were never considered great, but they were at least "Good".
But comparing the '09 Best Redline bar directly to the Core ESP Bar,
its a Night and Day difference.
Topic: "Best '09 Red line bar swival does not work"

Best Kites now ( summer 2010 ) has a  New and much improved Bar called
the " Best Redline Performance Bar".  The Bar looks nice, and we'll soon know how
it stacks up against the competition.   Only time will tell.
For now, The Best Kahoona rigged up on the Core ESP bar is a super sweet combo!

As you can see from above, we've done our best to give you a good description of the Core ESP Bar, and like always try to communicate the possible disadvantages as well.
We're not perfect either!, So if you see any inaccuracies let us know. : )
