- Scout II 3m is Perfect kite for learning the basics
and the 4m and 5m are ideal for Snow-Kiting or Kite-Landboarding. (The 3m can also be used for entry level landboarding and snow-kiting)
The Scout kites pack a lot of power for their size. The 3m Scout has close to the same power as the Rush 350 Pro.
The X-Over line system does make the kite more responsive to steering input. Faster Turning = More power!
If you're shopping for your first kite than go with the 3m. The 4m, 5m, and larger kites are for experienced kiters only. People of 220 lbs or more are the exception. More body weight
gives you the ability to handle more power.
If you're already experienced flying kites and are ready to move up to a more powerful kite for Snow-Kiting, Landboarding, or Buggying, look at 4m and larger kites.

Bar and " X-Over" line configuration of the New Scout -2.
#'s 6,7,8,9 in the image above
show the new location of the "X-over Bridal line System" ,at the Kite Bridal,
used to make the kite much more responsive to steering input.
The Original (Older ) " Scout 1" had utilized a "X-over Control Bar".
The New Scout II has had the Bridal modified so that the "cross over" component
happens at the kite, allowing for a new cleaner bar design.
This new design has all of the performance and now simplified for easy rigging.
Bottom line: A major improvement! Fast turning combined with simplicity at the bar.
#15: Bar ends / winding posts ( used for wrapping up your lines after flying )
#16:
Harness line ( aka Fixed-Line ) used to connect to a Harness.
