Simple to Fly & Easy to Handle
The Matrixx is simple to fly, easy to handle, and provides direct feedback at the bar, which are essential qualities for pilots to make real progress.
HQ4 dug deep into their box of magic tricks and made vast improvements, boosting the performance of this kite. Learn new moves, enjoy lots of lift and redefine the meaning of hang-time. All of this is no problem with the Matrixx.
Optimized For Foil Boarding
For easy access to foil kiting, the Matrixx offers exactly what pilots are looking for: stability and great feedback. These are important qualities in a kite so the pilot can gain a firm footing on the foil board. The Matrixx provides maximum upwind riding abilities and minimum lateral pull. HQ4 spent countless hours on the water to optimize the kite for this trend in order to make your life easier and improve the kiting experience.
Light Wind & What's New?
With light wind capabilities in mind, HQ4 deliberately chose lightweight and robust materials. The minimum-cell shape weighs less, while it is still able to generate great power.
- Extremely good low-end performance
- Optimized for the use on foilboards (easy foiling)
- Increased speed in turns and lift
- Better feedback on the bar
- Extremely easy to fly
- Increased aspect ratio for a better performance
Compared to its predecessor, the Matrixx is able to deliver a massive performance boost. The kite also shows its power significantly earlier; the new design and the increased aspect ratio are giving the pilot an even more direct feedback. If power is requested through the bar, the Matrixx is able to impress with a strong initiated lift. Hang-time is excellent, and in fact one of the areas where the Matrixx excels.
The shape of the kite has been entirely redesigned. An increased aspect ratio, along with more cells and repositioned air vents result in the enormous increase in performance of the new Matrixx. The new design of the air vents allows the cells to fill faster and creates more of the stabilizing inner pressure.
The main bridle of the Matrixx is made from extremely thin, low-stretch and tear-proof Dyneema lines that reduce air resistance to a minimum. The mixer employs extremely durable Ronstan pulleys and pre-stretched Dyneema lines, which will require almost no maintenance, even after many hours of flying.
For the Matrixx sail, HQ4 only used highend cloth, perfectly matched with great care based on many trials of prototype versions. The larger sized kites with their extremely lightweight and robust 20D ripstop cloth are optimized to the max for flying in light wind conditions. The Matrixx 18.0 weighs only 3.5 kg including the bar. The smaller sizes are made from their tried and tested 30D cloth.
