I met Jeff Beige in Pensacola while we were both attending a Wipika Kiteboarding Instructor certification course back in 2001.
Growing up, I remember seeing Shannon's face more than once on the cover of wakeboarding magazine. Shannon is one of those low key friendly types that everyone likes.
In 2004 when I heard Jeff and Shannon, along with a 3rd partner had started their own
Kite Brand I was more than intrigued to find out more. It didn't take long before I was in the car and headed across the state to meet with them in person.
That initial year was a little bizarre. I was surprised to find there were many people who
talked about Best Kites as if they were the evil anti-christ and we're going to kill the kiteboarding
industry. No joke, like I said, that was a strange year.
Here we are in the middle of '09 and Best has become the industry leader, with the now
famous Waroo, Nemesis, and Kahoona.
I've had the pleasure to get to know and be assisted by the Team including: JeffB, JeffG, Alecia, Lia, Sean, Steve S, Troy, Sue, Billy G, Evan and others.
