Kite-Landboard Overview: Things to Consider

Board Length:

When comparing boards, be sure you're comparing the right specs.
One brand says their board is 90 cm's long, and another brand says their board is 113 cm's. If not reading carefully, you would assume that one board is much longer than the other. Right? Maybe not!
The reason is that specs can be confusion.

They could be referring to one of 3 measurements.
• Over-all Length (The max length including the tires. The number will change if choosing the same deck but with different "trucks"
• Deck Length (The length of the deck / top surface)
• Axle to Axle Length ( The distance between the axles). A wider spread for more drawn out turns, a smoother ride, and added stability at speed.

In General...

Shorter:
better for those that like maneuvers and spins. Also nice for smaller riders.
Longer:
more stability for high speed cruising with a kite or riding fast downhill.
more comfortable for tall people,
Deck Material
Wood or wood Laminate are the least expensive. Composite decks combining wood and
fiberglass are an excellent way to get a nice balance between strength, durability, and low weight. MBS calls their composite mix "Power-lam".
